About the Recipe

Try this fun, nutritious and easy recipe. It has several health benefits including helping with digestion & providing a great source of fibre.

Ingredients

  • 2 Wholewheat Pita breads

  • 1 small onion

  • 1 small green bell pepper

  • 3 mushrooms

  • 1 small can of corn

  • 4 cherry tomatoes

  • 1 cup vegetarian cheese

  • 1 small jar of pasta sauce

  • 1 tsp of sugar

  • 2 tsp basil

  • 2 tsp oregano

  • 1 tsp all purpose seasoning

Preparation

  1. Pre-heat oven to  150 - 189° C.

  2. Place pita breads on a sheet pan.

  3. Wash and chop onion, mushrooms, bell pepper & tomatoes.

  4. Grater cheese & drain canned corn.

  5. Throw pasta sauce into a mixing bowl with dried herbs & sugar. Mix until blended well.

  6. Paste pita breads with sauce mixture.

  7. Top with cheese, then chooped veggies.

  8. Place in oven for 10-15 minutes or until cheese is melted & veggies are cooked.
