Homemade Cocoa & Cranberry Granola Bits

About the Recipe

This homemade snack is one that will get you through the day. With a sweet yet savoury taste, these granola bits can be eaten alone or added to another item.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups rolled oats mix (flaxseed, black sesame & chia)

  • 1/2 cup maple syrup

  • 1/4 cup dark baling cocoa (unsweetend)

  • 1/4 cup coconut oil

  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries 

  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)

  • Coarse crsytal seas salt (for garnishing)

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven 150 - 189° C.

  2. In a medium mixing bowl add the oats, cocoa powder, cranberries & nuts.

  3. In a small bowl, add coconut oil and maple syrup and mix well.

  4. Add coconut & maple mixture to dry ingredients.

  5. Stir until blended well.

  6. Spread mixture evenly on a baking sheet or in a pyrex dish.

  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes.

  8. Let cool completely. Sprinkle with coarse sea salt. Store in a Ziploc bag or cannister. Place in fridge to prolong shelf-life.
